It is normally worked into small objects — knife scales, inlay, instrument parts — because clean material in large, consistent panels is hard to find, so a humidor faced in it with the streaking running coherently across the front is a sourcing achievement before it is a woodworking one. In a pale interior it settles into the furniture; in a dark one it becomes the object everyone asks about. The humidor opens on a solid oak drawer with a Blumotion soft-close mechanism rather than a lid, so opening it does not release the conditioned air in a single movement, and solid timber rather than veneer keeps the front flat over years of humid air on one face and dry room air on the other.
