It is normally worked into small objects — knife scales, inlay, instrument parts — because clean material in large, consistent panels is hard to find, so a humidor faced in it with the streaking running coherently across the front is a sourcing achievement before it is a woodworking one. In a pale interior it settles into the furniture; in a dark one it becomes the object everyone asks about. The Diamond opens from the front on a drawer cut from solid oak, running on a Blumotion soft-close mechanism rather than lifting on a hinge: a lid releases most of the conditioned air in one movement, while a drawer keeps the bulk of it inside and the humidity recovers in minutes. Solid timber rather than veneered panel means the front will not lift or bubble over years of humid air on one face and dry room air on the other.
