MANOPOULOS - GIANTS' BATTLE METAL CHESS SET

HANDCRAFTED IN GREECE
Manopoulos has made games in Greece since 1970 — from Costas Manopoulos’s first bronze chess pieces to today’s workshop in Thebes, where every board is still cut, veneered and finished by hand. This piece comes to Canada exclusively through El Laguito Cigars.

SHIPS FROM CANADA — NO DUTIES, NO SURPRISES
Dispatched by El Laguito Cigars from Mississauga, Ontario, and priced in Canadian dollars. We import directly from the Manopoulos workshop, so there are no duties, brokerage or customs fees at your door. Each piece is made to order in Thebes: please allow approximately 25 days for production, plus 7–10 days for delivery within Canada.

THE DESIGN
The war between the Olympian gods and the Giants, sons of Mother Earth: Zeus as king, Hera as queen, the Olympians as bishops and Hercules — the hero Zeus called to his side — as the knight. The board is a handcrafted bronze chessboard, its patina chosen in the colour you prefer.

THE CRAFT
Manopoulos began with metal chessmen in 1970 and still casts them in Greece: each piece is cast in brass, finished and patinated by hand, then paired with a handcrafted bronze chessboard.

IN THE BOX
Bronze chessboard and 32 metal chessmen.
