MANOPOULOS - OLIVE BURL INLAID BACKGAMMON

HANDCRAFTED IN GREECE
Manopoulos has made games in Greece since 1970 — from Costas Manopoulos’s first bronze chess pieces to today’s workshop in Thebes, where every board is still cut, veneered and finished by hand. This piece comes to Canada exclusively through El Laguito Cigars.

SHIPS FROM CANADA — NO DUTIES, NO SURPRISES
Dispatched by El Laguito Cigars from Mississauga, Ontario, and priced in Canadian dollars. We import directly from the Manopoulos workshop, so there are no duties, brokerage or customs fees at your door. Each piece is made to order in Thebes: please allow approximately 25 days for production, plus 7–10 days for delivery within Canada.

THE DESIGN
Olive burl — the wood of the Tree of Life, cream to yellow-brown with dark wavy grain — paired with wenge and mahogany points. The full-size boards come with olive wood checkers; the 20 cm pocket size with oak checkers.

THE CRAFT
Inlaid by hand in the Manopoulos workshop in Thebes using marquetry — veneer pieces cut and fitted to form the points and border — then finished by hand.

IN THE BOX
Board, 30 wooden checkers (olive wood on the 48, 38 and 30 cm sizes; oak on the 20 cm size) and dice.
