Johnstons of Elgin has made cloth beside the River Lossie in Elgin since 1797, and is one of the few houses that still takes fibre from raw material to finished piece in its own Scottish mills. It holds Royal Warrants to His Majesty The King and to Her Majesty The Queen.

THE DESIGN
The concentric squares of the Art Geometric throw in cushion form, finished with a flat flanged edge — made to layer with the throws.

THE CRAFT
Pure cashmere — the fine undercoat of the cashmere goat — dyed, spun and woven in the Johnstons of Elgin mill, where colour is engineered in the house dyehouse before the fibre is spun. Selected pieces are finished by hand in the Elgin atelier.
