A Bosquet-Paris case is built to be used daily and to last for decades. Full-grain calf, crocodile and ostrich belly all develop a patina with handling, and most of the care they need is simply restraint.
Day to day
Wipe the case with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid leather creams and conditioners unless the house has recommended one for your skin: exotic leathers in particular should be cleaned with a dry cloth only. Keep the case out of prolonged direct sunlight, which fades dye, and away from heat sources such as a car dashboard or a radiator, which dry the leather and can loosen the layers.
Humidity
A leather case is for carrying cigars, not for storing them. Keep cigars in a humidor between outings and move them to the case for the day. The vegetal-tanned lining breathes, which helps a cigar stay in condition for a few hours, but it will not hold humidity over weeks. Do not put a humidity pack inside the case; moisture trapped against leather marks it.
Fit
Every Bosquet case is built for cigars up to 58 ring gauge. Never force a larger cigar — it stretches the tubes and strains the seam. If a cigar fits snugly, let it slide in rather than pushing it.
Storing
When the case is not in use, keep it in a cool, dry drawer in its original packaging or a soft cloth pouch, away from other items that could scratch the skin. Store it empty, with the lid closed, so it keeps its shape.
Repair and warranty
Every Bosquet-Paris piece is covered by a five-year warranty against manufacturing defects and faults in workmanship. Beyond that, the house offers a repair and restoration service for the lifetime of the piece. If a case needs attention, El Laguito Cigars will arrange it.
