The cap and clip recall René Lalique’s celebrated dragonfly-woman corsage of 1897–98, created for the French actress Sarah Bernhardt and exhibited at the 1900 World’s Fair in Paris. The barrel recreates Alphonse Mucha’s 1899 masterpiece La Plume, “the pen.” Each gripping section is inlaid with opaque hard enamel, and a cabochon onyx graces both the top and bottom of every piece.
Crafted from solid .925 sterling silver, the collection layers ten colours of translucent and opaque hard enamel over fifteen sections of guilloché engraving. Every component is engraved, then repeatedly kiln-fired and filed by hand.
The Collection — The 39th in the David Oscarson series of Limited Edition writing instruments. Produced in nine primary colour variations, each limited to 25 pieces, fountain pen and roller ball combined.
