Recognized across cultures, from ancient China and Egypt to Norse and Mesoamerican traditions, the Tree of Life is a universal symbol of immortality and eternal life. It also serves as a reminder of our past in its roots, our present in its trunk and our future in its fruit, and this collection celebrates that shared imagery.
The entire body of the pen is first cut down to the level of the background, leaving the outlines of roots, branches, fruit and leaves in high relief. Root and bark patterns are then engraved into the background, before finer fruit and leaf patterns are added within their respective areas. Each piece pairs a principal colour with translucent saffron and emerald green enamel.
The collection incorporates five levels of guilloché engraving and three colours of translucent and opaque hard enamel on every piece, with select variations finished in gold vermeil.
The Collection — The 11th in the David Oscarson series of Limited Edition writing instruments. Produced in five colour variations, each limited to 88 pieces, fountain pen and roller ball combined.
