À propos de cette collection

In May 1804, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark set out at President Jefferson’s charge to explore and map the vast territory of the Louisiana Purchase, becoming the first of their nation to reach the Pacific by land. This collection honours the two captain-explorers and the courage of an expedition of more than 8,000 miles.

Each explorer’s signature appears in high relief above gentle river currents, and both pieces carry a map of the Louisiana Purchase tracing the trail from St. Louis, Missouri to Fort Clatsop, Oregon. The Meriwether Lewis cap holds a telescope clip, with a compass rose engraved on the barrel. The William Clark cap features a feathered clip, and its barrel bears the Peace Medal the explorers presented to many chiefs along the trail.

True to the house tradition, the collection unites guilloché engraving with hard enamel, the Lewis piece in translucent Ruby Red with gold vermeil and the Clark piece in translucent Sapphire Blue.

The Collection — The 15th in the David Oscarson series of Limited Edition writing instruments. Produced in two design variations, each limited to 100 pieces, fountain pen and roller ball combined.
