Often called "the man who invented the 20th century," Nikola Tesla earned more than 700 patents and championed the alternating current system that remains the global standard for power transmission. This collection is a lasting tribute to the life, energy and passion of one of the world's greatest minds.
Tesla's signature stands in high relief on the barrel alongside a rotating magnetic field and the symbol for alternating current, with the Tesla coil engraved in low relief behind them. The gripping section carries his drawings of the AC generator and induction motor. On the cap, high-relief bolts of electricity surround a clip shaped as the Tesla Tower, while an X-ray of Tesla's hand appears within the coil. Atop the crown stands the tesla, the unit of magnetic flux density, together with his beloved white pigeon.
Hand-crafted in solid sterling silver, the collection unites centuries-old guilloché engraving with translucent hard enamel, kiln-fired and hand-filed in repeated layers, with three variations finished in gold vermeil.
The Collection — The 35th in the David Oscarson series of Limited Edition writing instruments. Offered in six colour variations, each limited to 86 pieces, fountain pen and roller ball combined.
