ASHTRAY LA CASONA - CALACATTA ORO (SET COMPONENT)

THE DESIGN

La Casona is an artistic tribute to the historic colonial "casonas" of Cuba, born from a collaboration between Litolite and La Casona Cubana. Each piece is first carved in bas-relief from solid Calacatta Oro marble and then meticulously hand-painted by master Italian artisans, so the streets, façades and colours of Havana come to life against the stone. No two pieces are identical. This is the ashtray from the La Casona set, offered here as a stand-alone piece.

THE RITUAL

Sized for company: a 20 cm bowl with rests for more than one cigar at a time. At around 4 kg it stays planted on the table, and the deep hollow keeps ash and stubs well below the rim. Marble is the right material beyond looks: it takes a lit cigar set down mid-smoke without scorching, and it does not hold odour between sessions the way ceramic and wood do.

CARE

Wipe the marble and the painted surface with a soft, barely damp cloth only — acidic, abrasive or limescale products damage polished stone and hand-painted relief permanently. Handmade from natural materials: expect gentle variation in veining and colour from the photograph.
