Every Geoffrey Parker piece is hand made to order in the company's Essex workshops. Lead time is approximately 8–12 weeks for production, plus about 1 week for shipping to Canada; waiting times lengthen before Christmas. Larger orders may arrive in more than one shipment.
THE DESIGN
Designed in the seventies with former World Champion and backgammon guru Paul Magriel, these weighted leather stones are a labour of love. As Nicholas Foulkes of GQ put it: "If Hermès ever made miniature air-hockey pucks, they would look like this."
THE CRAFT
Each stone is built like papier-mâché — glue and board bound together, a lead weight inserted to bring it to championship weight — then two leather discs are applied and a leather strip is fine-edged with a paring knife, glued and burnished into an invisible join. A set of 30 can take as long to build as a whole backgammon.

Every piece is made to your specification from Geoffrey Parker's palette of 13 Dauphin leather colours (over 22,500 possible combinations of case, field and points). We will confirm your colour choices with you after your order is placed. Initials are embossed free of charge in gold or silver; additional embossings, company logos and custom designs are available at a small extra cost.
