THE FRAGRANCE

In Special No.127, a refreshing blend of bergamot, orange and petitgrain introduces a heart of lavender and geranium. Subtle neroli enhances the citrus floral composition, while patchouli and musk give it depth and character. THE STORY

Floris created the fragrance in 1890 for Russia’s Prince Orloff, under the name ‘Orloff Special’. It later joined the Floris repertoire, renamed after the page of the ‘Specials’ formula book on which its recipe was recorded. Loved over the years by men and women alike, it counted Eva Perón and Winston Churchill among its devoted followers, and Churchill’s original receipt from December 1934 is still displayed at 89 Jermyn Street.

THE HOUSE

Floris has traded from 89 Jermyn Street, in London’s St James’s, since 1730, when Juan Famenias Floris and his wife Elizabeth opened their shop. Every Floris fragrance is still created in the perfumery at the back of that shop, and the house has held Royal Warrants since 1820.
