THE DESIGN
Nero Portoro Oro is a rare black marble threaded with striking gold veins, quarried in Liguria since Roman times and always treated as a precious material rather than a building one. Its gold veining runs in defined bands, so a block has to be read and cut along the grain of the veins — it is the slowest marble in the collection to work and the least forgiving. Here it forms the humidor insert designed to sit on the Litolite Lacquered Bar Cabinet, though it stands beautifully on its own.
THE COLLECTION
Made to order as part of the Litolite bar system: crafted to commission and configured together with your bar cabinet, so the design — stone or wood, drawer-front finish, gold or silver pairing — is finalised with you before production. El Laguito Cigars configures the piece with the atelier, confirms the lead time and manages the import.
THE CRAFT
Humidity is managed by Boveda packs, a two-way system that releases moisture as the interior dries and reabsorbs it when the level climbs, holding a steady figure rather than swinging. No distilled water and no sponge: replace the packs when they begin to stiffen, typically every two to four months. An automatic ventilation system keeps the humidity uniform through the whole interior, and internal LED lighting brings out the material every time the drawer opens. The drawer fronts are solid oak rather than veneered panel, so they stay flat over years of humid air on one face and dry room air on the other. Interior lined in Okoumé.

CARE
Keep below roughly 21 °C and out of direct sun. Clean the marble with a soft, barely damp cloth only — acidic and limescale products etch polished stone permanently.
