THE START

A new wood humidor is dry cedar. Before it can hold humidity it has to absorb some — and if there are cigars inside while that happens, it takes the moisture from them. This two-step kit seasons the box first, then maintains it. Sized for a humidor holding up to 50 cigars.

THE SETUP

Step 1 — place the two 84% RH packs in the empty humidor and close it for 14 days. The cedar draws moisture from the packs until it stabilises. Step 2 — remove them, place the two 72% RH packs, add your cigars. The humidity holds itself from there.

THE RITUAL

No distilled water. No sponges. No wiping the interior — the old advice that warps cedar and invites mould. The wood seasons itself and stays sealed.
