Manopoulos has made games in Greece since 1970 — from Costas Manopoulos’s first bronze chess pieces to today’s workshop in Thebes, where every board is still cut, veneered and finished by hand. This piece comes to Canada exclusively through El Laguito Cigars.

THE DESIGN
A full backgammon field printed on soft suede that rolls around its own tube — the board unrolls flat on any table, and the checkers, dice and cups live inside the roll.

THE CRAFT
Handmade in Thebes: the suede field is printed and sealed, the edges bound, and the whole set rolls up and ties for the bag or the boat.
