Manopoulos has made games in Greece since 1970 — from Costas Manopoulos’s first bronze chess pieces to today’s workshop in Thebes, where every board is still cut, veneered and finished by hand. This piece comes to Canada exclusively through El Laguito Cigars.

THE DESIGN
A plain, well-made hinged box in walnut-colour wood — small for cufflinks, keys and cards, large for a chess set’s pieces, cigars or the things that collect on a desk.

Made, hinged and finished by hand in Thebes. The large size is the box Manopoulos uses for its own chessmen.
