The Celestial collection captures the sun, moon and stars in a single writing instrument, continuing David Oscarson's tradition of artistic mastery and Old World craftsmanship. Five vivid colour pairs on the caps stand in bold contrast to the translucent midnight blue enamel of the barrels, evoking the passage from day to night.
On the cap, the rays of the sun remain in high relief while the sunburst background features deliberate omissions in the engraving to suggest heat and solar flares, crowned by a three-dimensional face of the sun on the tapered surface. The barrel depicts four phases of the moon outlined in high relief, surrounded by stars in three diameters of high relief and three of low relief, above and beneath the midnight blue enamel.
Hand-crafted from 18-karat gold and .925 sterling silver, each piece combines multiple levels of guilloché with hard enamel and is finished in rhodium or 18-karat yellow gold vermeil. The fountain pen accepts cartridge, converter or eyedropper filling and carries an 18-karat gold nib engineered in Heidelberg, Germany, rhodium-plated and iridium-tipped.
