Honouring the 100th anniversary of Route 66 (1926–2026), this collection captures the dusty romance, neon glow and boundless optimism of America’s Main Street. Stretching 2,448 miles from Chicago to Santa Monica, the road John Steinbeck called “The Mother Road” became a lifeline for westward migration and an icon of freedom and discovery.
The cap and barrel feature a smooth opaque “asphalt” highway set against shimmering guilloché beneath translucent hot enamel, with each of the eight states along the route given its own guilloché pattern outlined in high relief. Art Deco diners, vintage gas pumps and motels paint the open road, while the solid sterling silver clip is sculpted as a vintage neon motel sign. The iconic Route 66 shield crowns the cap in high relief, joined by an “End of the Trail” accent from the Santa Monica pier.
The vitreous enamel is fired at temperatures exceeding 1,400° F, and an 18-karat gold nib plated in rhodium complements the sterling silver fittings.
The Collection — The 43rd in the David Oscarson series of Limited Edition writing instruments. Limited to 66 pieces per colour, fountain pen and roller ball combined.
