About this collection

The Seaside Collection captures the quiet beauty of the shoreline, carrying forward the house tradition of uniting the centuries-old art of guilloché with the expertise of hard enamel. It holds a special place in the David Oscarson story as the first collection to incorporate four levels of guilloché on each piece.

The oceanic design is engraved in four stages. The body is first cut down to a wave-patterned background, leaving shells and sand dollars in two levels of high relief; the wave pattern is then engraved, followed by a skeletal motif on each sand dollar and a scallop pattern on the shells.

Four colours of translucent hard enamel are accented with translucent white and finished in rhodium vermeil, while a fifth piece pairs white on white enamel with 18-karat rose gold vermeil. Enamel is fired at over 1,000° F and filed by hand, and the 18-karat gold nib is engineered in Heidelberg, Germany.

The Collection — The 5th in the David Oscarson series of Limited Edition writing instruments. Produced in five colour variations, each limited to 88 pieces, fountain pen and roller ball combined.
